We were very pleased to hear about a two-day counter-recruiting teach-in at Mattituck High School last week.

Emily Crook, a graduate of the school and now a junior at college, developed a two-day agenda for seniors at the school, based on materials she had found on the web from sites such as We provided her with DMZ, an excellent publication from War Resisters League, that offers students important information to help them make a considered and informed decision about their future when they are approached by military recruiters.

We applaud Emily's initiative and integrity and look forward to reading about her in this week's Suffolk Times.
