The Green Party of Suffolk invites everyone to showcase their artistic talent and their commitment to ending the War in Iraq by entering its "Bring Home Our Troops Poster Contest." The contest is designed to help encourage creativity, and support the goal of ending the War in Iraq and bringing our American troops home immediately.

Two prizes of $100 will be awarded, one for youth 17 years and younger, the other for adults 18 years and over. Rules and an application/release form are available on-line at www.gpsuffolk.org. Or, you may contact the Green Party of Suffolk County at (631) 351-5763.

The deadline for entry is March 1st 2007. Winners will be announced at the Green Party of Suffolk Fundraiser at the Setauket Neighborhood House on Friday, March 16th. Winners do not need to be present to claim their prize.

The Fundraiser will also include a silent auction of the work of local artists.

Local greens designed the Bring Home Our Troops Poster Contest as a way to encourage people to share a vision of peace.

AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH COMES TO CUTCHOGUE

NFPOC is very pleased to announce a joint project with North Fork Environmental Council and the Cutchogue Presbyterian Church in which we will be offering a free public screening of AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH, Al Gore's critically important documentary.

The event takes place on Saturday, March 3 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church on Main Road in Cutchogue.

Even if you've already seen An Inconvenient Truth, you may want to join us for the discussion that will take place after the film. Please bring your family and friends. We are especially interested in reaching out to students--the next generation.

We look forward to creating new alliances with other local groups in the future. If you have any ideas, please feel free to contact us at nfpofc@optonline.net

We'd appreciate your downloading the poster and hanging it in places where others can see it.

For more information, please call Gwynn at 631 298 4912.

If you'd like to be added to our email list so you can learn about our upcoming events, please contact us at nfpofc@optonline.net
